Summer Fun for Kids

The Chippewa Valley Museum will again offer weekly classes for kids this summer. Time Travelers for children ages 6-12 is held on Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30 a.m., and Museum Explorers is offered for preschoolers ages 3-5 on Thursdays from 10-11:30 a.m.
Each 90-minute class features hands-on experiences, as students explore museum exhibits to learn about local culture and heritage in a series of exciting history adventures! Classes are held at the Chippewa Valley Museum located in scenic Carson Park, or at the historic Schlegelmilch House at 517 South Farwell Street, in downtown Eau Claire.
Contact Karen Jacobson at 715-834-7871 to register, or download and print registration brochures below. Cost per class for non-members is $8 or $5 per child with museum membership. Prices are $4 and $3 per class for every additional child enrolled.

June 30, Canvas Creations: Paint on a real canvas with guest artist Cyndi Kortbein.
July 14, Cooking Up Some Fun: Explore kitchens from the past and prepare a snack.
July 21, Dairy Days: Tour the Farm Life exhibit and make and taste cheese.
July 28, On the Move: Discover the wonders of transportation with an exhibit scavenger hunt.
August 4, Parlor Party: Enjoy games galore at the historic Schlegelmilch House.

June 22, Shutterbug Shindig: Explore a new photo exhibit and meet a professional photographer.
June 29, History Olympics: Learn about area champion athletes and the sport of lacrosse.
July 13, Music Makers: Play the harp, drums, and other instruments with local guest musicians.
July 20, Design Squad Challenge: Create your own tiny room box with CVM's exhibit designer.
July 27, Garden Party: Celebrate community green thumbs at the historic Schlegelmilch House.
August 3, Antique Carnival: Solve a live-action exhibit puzzle and enjoy carnival treats.
