Summer Painting Parties
Posted: May 26, 2015
Guest artist Cyndi Kortbein from The Paint Shack returns to CVM this summer for three brand new offerings. The first is designed specifically for kids. Children ages 6-12 will join Cyndi as she teaches them how to paint their own masterpieces, along with decorating a fun "Picasso Cupcake" for a snack! The featured painting, "Keep Dreaming" is a colorful rendition of a dreamcatcher, complete with wispy feathers and beads.
The second and third sessions are intended for adults. Participants attending the second session will be guided through the steps of creating a beautiful sunset landscape reminiscent of nearby Half Moon Lake. The third and final session will focus on a related scene featuring cattails, suggestive of those growing in Carson Park upon the shores of Braun's Bay!
Mark your calendar for the following schedule:
Wednesday, July 8th, 10:00-11:30 am: Picturing the Past (children's painting party). Featured Painting, "Keep Dreaming."
Tuesday, July 14th, 6:00-8:30 pm: Adult Painting Party. Featured work, "Sunset at Half Moon Lake."
Tuesday, August 18th, 6:00-8:30 pm: Adult Painting Party. Featured work, "Cattails of Carson Park."
Advanced registration for all three offerings is required, as space is limited. Cost for either adult program is $30 for CVM members, or $35 for non-members. The painting party for children will be held as part of the museum's weekly summer series for school-aged youth, which carry their own fees.
