History of Women's Undergarments on March 7
Posted: February 24, 2017
Using clothing and accessories from the Chippewa Valley Museum's collections as examples, museum director and curator Carrie Ronnander will discuss the connection between women's fashions from the early 19th century through the 20th century during a talk titled "History of Women's Undergarments" from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7 at the Chippewa Valley Museum.
"Fashion and conceptions of beauty influence what women wear under their clothing," said Ronnander. "The history of underwear also brings us fascinating accessories like corsets and bustles, and terms like crinoline and chemise."
This talk is free and open to the public. The museum is open late on Tuesdays, and does not charge admission to see exhibits from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
